The Commonwealth of the Bahamas is a tax free English speaking offshore jurisdiction in the Caribbean. It is a stable, independent sovereign country with a democracy and judicial system modelled as the United Kingdom.

The Bahamas has a long history as a major offshore financial jurisdiction. The Bahamas offshore corporation is governed by the International Business Companies Act, 2000 (as amended) and is fully tax free in the Bahamas. The Bahamas also has no income tax, capital gains tax, withholding tax, gift tax or inheritance tax.

Although the Bahamas was placed on both the FATF and OECD blacklists in 2000, the government extensively revised its legislative structure to bring the country into conformity with tougher international standards and the Bahamas was removed from both lists as a result.
